April 15th issue of El Paso Inc Major CPA firm reorganizes, and new partnership forms By Ryan Poulos Michael White, CPA, and Roxie Samaniego, CPA, have recently left one of the largest certified public accounting firms in El Paso to start a new partnership, White & Samaniego, LLP. Samaniego and White previously worked at Weiner & Strickler LLP, which has now reorganized into Strickler & Prieto LLP. As of March 26, White & Samaniego, LLP is offering a full range of accounting services including tax, external auditing, internal auditing, bookkeeping and consulting services. White & Samaniego is located at 4510 N. Mesa. “We decided to partner up right now so we can beat the growth that is expected in El Paso in the coming months and years,” Samaniego said. “We have done this so we can go ahead and establish ourselves as a firm so we can be competitive with other firms as the city grows. We really thought that this could be a good opportunity for us” Samaniego said the combined experience of herself and White will allow the firm to have the knowledge to serve the El Paso community well and provide more personal attention to their clients. “Our initial focus will be non-profit and government,” she said. “We will also be focusing on small business for tax services.” Some of their current non-profit clients include Project Arriba and the Frontier Women’s Foundation. White has more than six years of experience in El Paso providing audit, tax and consulting services and he currently serves as the president of the El Paso Opera Board of Directors and is a graduate of Leadership El Paso Class XXV. Samaniego has more than eight years experience in El Paso providing auditing and consulting services for non-profit and governmental organizations. She currently serves as a vice president for the El Paso Chapter of CPAs, the chair of recruiting for the El Paso Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors, and is a board member for the Humane Society of El Paso and for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. She is also a member of Leadership El Paso Class XXIX.
